Marinello

As most of you know, I'm currently going to hairschool at Marinello's School of Beauty. I've been in the program since the end of December of 2oo9, and I really love it. I graduated Freshman class two weeks ago, and so I'm out on the floor with the other girls. I haven't had a ton of clients yet, mostly requests (meaning my friends/family) and easy stuff like waxing or scalp treatments.
In Freshman class we got to do most of the stuff we were learning on eachother. Scalp treatments, waxing, color, facials...it was so fun! I did the acrylics on the left on my friend Kindra. I had no idea that you could mix the acryli c yourself and put it on instead of just applying a fake nail!

I did my friend Yasmeen's hair. We had models every Friday that we had to perform what we learned that week. Yasmeen was my color model. You can't tell much from the picture, but it was quite a trip to do her hair. I put in a darker brown and a carmel color. Her hair took the brown fine, but didnt take any of the carmel color. So I put bleach in her hair, and it went blonde, and Yasmeen freaked out that it was so light. So I had to tone her hair and the highlights turned a nice carmel. She was there for all 5 hours...whew!
Hairschool is a lot of fun, but its hard work. I go to school from 5-10 Monday thru Friday, and I don't get holidays off. Any time I miss I have to make up. I can go on leave if I want and it freezes my loans, so I'm planning on going on a family reunion and taking a good two or so weeks off. I'm so excited I can't tell you! I need a BREAK!
